Weld-on flanges are normally mounted on the tubular loading/unloading sections of screw conveyors and serve as a coupling between screw and valves or between screw conveyors themselves.
Universal inlets are essentially made up of two steel half-shells coupled together to ensure radial and axial movement between the two parts. They are manufactured in various diameters/dimensions and are completed with flanges or cylindrical segments.
Universal inlets are mainly used as loading elements to ensure optimal orientation and inclination adjustment of the screw from the silo to the discharge point of the conveyed material. Screw conveyors mounted under silos in concrete batching plants have, in most cases, a spherical universal inlet connected by a flange to the under silo valve.
